Our Vision

'a place where the wounded warriors of Christ could come to seek the face of the Lord and find rest, healing and renewal in his everlasting arms of love'

The history
" Write down the revelation and make it plain......."  Hab 2:2

In 1989 the Lord began to reveal the
vision of Shekinah - a prayer house and retreat/healing centre at Newchurch-in-Pendle.

Whilst Margaret was working in the fields, she saw the large barn changed from a cowshed into a beautiful place for Christians to meet. Margaret heard the Lord saying that it would be 'a place where the wounded warriors of Christ could come to seek the face of the Lord and find rest, healing and renewal in his everlasting arms of love'.

By 1994 building permission had been granted and the ‘ Shekinah Christian Trust’ became a registered charity, administered by Christians from different denominations.

In January 2010 the day facilities were completed. We were thrilled that 25 years later the vision is moving towards its fulfilment and Shekinah Christian Centre is now a safe haven for Christians of any denomination to come to.

Today

* Starting work on the bedrooms in the New Year *

We now have the funding to do the grounds work for the bedrooms. This will cost approximately £25,000. The grounds work will be completed by the spring.

The new roadway into the centre is almost complete and should also be completed by the spring !

Still To Come:-

There is still much work to be done.We are planning to convert the second half of the Barn ( which is still a barn) into ensuit bedrooms to accommodate up to nineteen people, providing full or half-board services. This work can begin as soon as there is the finance available. It is estimated that the cost will be around £250 000.

We know that God's timing is perfect and it is in that strength that we are applying ourselves.
