Shekinah is intended to be a safe, peaceful place.

You can choose how you spend your time - be silent, talk or pray, write, paint, read, just rest and enjoy the gardens and woodland, explore the countryside ….. or even pull up a few weeds if you feel so inclined!

Our aim is for your stay to be as appropriate and meaningful to you as we can possibly make it.

Listening and Prayer

Many people say that they find it helpful to be listened to by someone who is interested, caring, and non-judgemental. Our ministry team are sensitive to individuals and able to support guests through confidential listening and prayer.

If you would like to spend some time with members of our team please let us know when you book so that a suitable time can be arranged.

Please be aware that this is not counselling, and we can't promise to solve problems …. but we can offer a sympathetic, listening ear.

Silence

Staying silent during your retreat can help you to focus on prayer and reflection, but this is your choice.

If you are sure that you would like to be in silence, please make that clear to us when you book.

Prayer Meetings

If you have read the page about ‘The Vision’, you will see that one of the main elements of our Vision is that Shekinah should be a prayer house and retreat/healing centre ….. "A place where the wounded warriors of Christ can come to seek the face of the Lord and find rest and renewal for their lives".

We are delighted that groups of people have chosen to use Shekinah for many different purposes, but we are particularly delighted when one of those purposes is to come together in prayer …..

….. but Shekinah is for individuals as well. It is wonderful that we can offer a place where individuals and couples can come to seek the face of the Lord and find rest and renewal for their lives.

Weekly prayer meetings that are open to everyone are:

  • Tuesdays - Prayer for Israel

  • Wednesdays - Prayer for our local area

We are open to prayer requests at the above meetings.

There is no charge for anyone attending our prayer meetings.

If you wish to pray individually, please ask us, and a member of the Shekinah team will pray with/for you.

A Prayer of Blessing for Shekinah

Wonderful Father, we are so grateful that you have established this place as a Tent of Meeting for You and Your people. Thank you that this is a place where Your Glory will be seen. Thank you that You know the plans and purposes that You have for those who will come here - plans to prosper them, to give them hope and a future. We bless them to be able to seek You with all their hearts and to find You. May they experience Your Shekinah Glory and enter into the Holy of Holies.

We bless all who will come here to meet with Your extraordinary father-heart of compassionate love that will cast out their fears. We bless them to dwell in the shelter of the Most High and to rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We bless them to say of the Lord that He is their refuge and fortress - their God in whom they will trust. We bless them to know that He will save them from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. We bless them to know that He covers them with His feathers and that under His wings they will find refuge. His faithfulness will be their shield and rampart. We bless them to fear no terror of night nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

We bless them with open eyes, open ears and softened hearts to receive Your words and Your healing. We bless them with renewed strength and health to take back into the world. We bless them in their listening, in their hearing, during the day and in the night. We bless them with dreams and visions of You as they sleep. We bless them in their fellowship during the day, to know the unity of the Spirit of the bond of peace. We bless them with thankful hearts and a spirit of praise and worship.

We bless those righteous people who come to intercede. We bless them with powerful and effective prayers and intercessions. We bless them with prophetic gifting that they may be watchmen intercessors. Through them, we pray that Your Voice will go out from here into the nation, changing atmospheres and bringing light into the darkness.

We declare and decree in Jesus's name, that as members of God's royal priesthood, all these blessings and the blessings of obedience will fall upon those who come to work at Shekinah.

Alleluiah!  The Lord's holy Name be praised!
