In 1989 the Lord began to reveal the vision of Shekinah; a prayer house and retreat/healing centre at Newchurch-in-Pendle. "A place where the wounded warriors of Christ could come to seek the face of the Lord and find rest and renewal for their lives".  By 1994 building permission had been granted and the "Shekinah Christian Trust" became a registered charity; administered by Christians from different denominations. Over the years a dedicated band of supporters has been working to see the vision fulfilled.

In January 2010 the day facilities were completed and are used by individuals and Christian groups an a daily basis, blessed by the peace and solitude found at Shekinah in the presence of the Lord.
